Why Karate?

In simple terms, Karate is a system of training that develops Japanese fighting skills. It's ultimate goal, however, is not to develop street fighters or violent individuals. On the contrary, the true aim of Karate lays in the perfection of the character of its practitioners.

Martial arts, when taught properly, will awaken in the students, young and old, a great sense of pride, and confidence in themselves. A good instructor, will balance this confidence with lessons of humility, kindness, and self control, especially through his/her example.

Karate is an excellent forming tool for children, physically and mentally. Children develop a great sense of order and purpose, while becoming fit and learning to defend themselves. Adults also find Karate a great outlet for relieving stress, and getting into shape. For families, it is a very wholesome activity where everyone can participate and share a common goal.Still, Karate remains a system of self defense; students will learn many types of kicks, blocks, punches, and strikes, and the ways to effectively apply them if forced to do so.

At Colorado Karate Club our purpose is to provide a safe environment for students of all ages to become the best Karate practitioners in the State of Colorado and the nation; while instilling a sense of honor and confidence in our students. Provided with the proper instruction, we believe that Karate training is one of the best investments anyone may make on themselves, their children, and their family as a whole. I encourage you to call us today to find out more about how we can help you achieve your goals. I am sure you will find our classes rewarding and fun.
