Colorado Karate Club was founded in 2005 by Sensei Willy Strohmeier to continue a long tradition of excellence in the Shotokan style of Karate-Do.
This tradition began in 1979 in Lima - Peru, under the masterful tutelage of Sensei Luis Chiock Wong (member of the Peruvian Karate team as athlete and coach during the 1970's and 80's.) The Strohmeier brothers have represented their country of origin, Peru, in multiple (WKF** Sanctioned) international competitions; having achieved several South American and Pan-American titles from the 1980's through the present.
Some recent accomplishments include a bronze medal at the Pan-American Games (Santo Domingo -2003), bronze and gold medals at the USA National Karate Championships (2005 - Charleston NC, and 2006 - Ft Lauderdale FL - USANKF***)
The Strohmeier brothers have been teaching children and adults in Peru and the United States for ore than fifteen years, training beginners and advanced Karate-ka. They are also bi-lingual, thus, students may be taught in English and/or Spanish as needed.
**WKF: The World Karate Federation is the International Federation recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) *** USANKF: The USA National Karate Federation is the National Karate Organization recognized by the US Olympic committee (USOC)
